Vedic astrology for November, 2016

Jyotish,  or Vedic astrology for November, 2016 begins on the heels of the Indian new year and provides a prime opportunity for new beginnings. Mars and Saturn re-engage and test our boundaries. Bold Mars is at its peak performance, while the Sun makes great effort to shine its light and illumine our lives.

MARS EXALTED

nature-desktop-7The red planet, Mars, entered its exaltation sign of Capricorn at the start of the month, super-charing its fiery and ambitious tendencies. By virtue of their current planetary placements, Mars and Saturn are engaging in a parivartana yoga or a planetary house exchange. The house swap of these two malefics can create constructive or obstructive situations, depending on your rising sign in Vedic astrology, as well as your planetary cycles. You can gain more insight into this interchange via the book “Parivartana Yoga”.

Further compounding the matter is that Saturn is exerting its influence on Mars again. While this is not as problematic as the Mars and Saturn pairing in Scorpio earlier this year, it can still be turbulent. Thus, you should mind your health, as you can easily burn out. Watch out for inflammatory conditions such as arthritis and muscle strains. Additionally, you can be susceptible to circulatory disorders. Ayurveda offers supplements to help balance your health.

SUN DEBILITATED

The Sun begins the month by being situated in Libra, its sign of debilitation. You may feel that you are unable to bring forth your leadership skills in business partnerships. As the indicator for spirituality, the Sun’s weakness will have the impact of making you feel that you are not making the spiritual progress that you desire.

The planetary positions in Vedic astrology for November, 2016 have created a Kala Sarpa Yoga type configuration. Seven planets are on one side of the Rahu/ Ketu (nodal) axis.  A pattern for heightened intensity is created.  As a result, there is a great deal of striving, accompanied by unfulfilled desires.  Coupled with the Saturn/ Mars exchange, it’s difficult to see other perspectives. People with their ascendants or Moons in sidereal Leo and Aquarius will find this most problematic. This pattern is temporarily suspended on November 10 when the Moon enters Pisces. However, it re-emerges on the 22nd when the Moon re-situates itself inside the nodal axis.

FULL MOON

The Full Moon (Purnima) in Vedic astrology for November, 2016 is on the 14th at 5:50 AM Pacific time. The Moon is full in Aries in the nakshatra of Krittika – the star of transformation. This day can be filled with great ups and downs. Please check my Facebook page for further details the Full Moon this month.

Two days after the full Moon, the Sun moves out of debilitation and joins Mercury and Saturn in Scorpio. Consequently, those in a Sun or Saturn cycle may feel overly burdened by a sense of responsibility, but be unable to voice their feelings.

The Moon’s proximity to Jupiter on November 23-25 makes for an excellent networking opportunity. Utilize these days to reach out to business connections or to inquire about other career opportunities.
