We celebrate the festival of Navratri in Vedic astrology for October, 2016

Jyotish or Vedic astrology for October, 2016 brings a change of pace as the virtuous planets gain strength and the harmful planets lose ground. There is cause to rejoice as we celebrate the Indian festivals of Navratri and Diwali this month.

The month begins with the nine night festival of Navratri, which honors the goddesses Kali, Lakshmi, and Saraswati. There is a particular goddess associated with each night.  Following Navratri is the auspicious holiday of Dussera or Vijaya Dashami on October 10 in North America and October 11 in Europe and India, according to mypanchang.

Mercury returns home to Virgo on the 3rd, where it joins Jupiter and the Sun.  Mercury and Jupiter are the planets of communication.  Mercury is quite analytical, while Jupiter is profoundly wise. They can jointly use proper strategies to create and strategically implement health promoting routines which are long lasting habits.  It’s the time to concertize your strategies for the next few months. Mercury remains with Jupiter till the 21st.

Venus luxuriates in Libra until October 12th, bringing balance, romance, and elegance to partnerships.  Take advantage of this time to harmonize your personal life. Then Venus joins Saturn in Scorpio on the 13th.  This duo can engage in impetuous romantic actions, particularly from October 28 to 30.

It’s a day for completing projects and setting sail for new horizons.  Please check my Facebook page for more information on the full Moon.

The Sun moves into Libra on the 17th, where it is debilitated or in a weak position for one month. As the Sun reflects the atma or the soul, it can be a time when you strive to make spiritual progress on your journey. You may not immediately feel the results as you strive for a deeper connection with the divine.

N426822-200ow that Mars and Saturn have separated from being house mates in Scorpio, it’s time to give yourself a rest.  Those of you who are in a Saturn or Mars planetary cycle should make this a priority, as you have pushed yourself to the point of exhaustion.

While we will see a lessening of natural disasters in terms of aqueous contamination, there is still because for concern for the next four months.  Plan your travels safely ad carefully.  Mars in fiery Sagittarius can create a great deal of upheaval, especially while it is in the forceful and impermanet constellation of Mula, through the 8th.  On the sociopolitical front, there is a change in strategy.  Rather than just pushing their agenda, groups will take a different tactic.  In Vedic astrology for October, 2016, Saturn in Scorpio is influencing Rahu in Leo by its solitudinous gaze.  Saturn’s need for security compels wild card Rahu into action.  Rahu acts impetuously, wanting to change the social order. Its tactics are unpredictable and can create havoc.  As the North node, Rahu is a headless body and can not ground itself into feeling secure.  Rahu and Saturn both represent foreigners in Jyotish. We see communities and factions rising up against what they deem to be unstable outside influences.
